Trowunna's
daily tours have been educating the public for over 25 years.
|
Students
can learn about the fascinating world of reptiles by looking at the local
reptiles in the sanctuary. This class can be taken at any time of the
year but the warmer months are better because it can be combined with
a mini field trip in the sanctuary looking under rocks and logs where
lizards live, also looking at what lizards eat (bugs!). The lesson also
includes snake safety by a professional herpetologist. In spring time
this tour ends with a look at snake habitat and a listen to some of the
different frog species. Students will be able to touch a blue tongue lizard
on this tour.

Art and natural history combine in this fun activity for primary school students. We start with drawing funny faces, then a look around the park to draw some animals. Students will learn to draw cartoons and also learn parts of the animals face and how they work.
