Trowunna Wilfelife Park, Mole Creek
Wildlife What type of wildlife? Trowunna has a great range of marsupials, birds and reptiles, including the local wildlife inhabitants, that also call Trowunna home. Trowunna has become such a wildlife haven that native animals are naturally drawn to the park with the knowledge that they are among friends. Trowunna is an integral part of the larger picture of wildlife in Tasmania. Centrally set amongst varying environments, Trowunna provides an oasis to transient and migratory wildlife looking to travel through what are, sometimes hostile environments. Our location is a crossroad where animals from alpine, forested, and costal regions can meet and traverse across safely. Trowunna consists of several micro-habitats perfectly suited to unique native fauna, enabling us to cater for a large proportion of our native species. Trowunna is able to provide this sanctuary through our 'wildlife corridor' of over 10 hectares, which acts as a safe haven along with other property owners who subscribe to Land for Wildlife, providing over 2000 acres of wildlife friendly land. The park is situated on 65 acres of natural vegetation including giant eucalypts, acacias with kangaroos, pademelons, wallabies, potoroos and wombats roaming around the park at their leisure. Bird species that you can view include Goshawk, Falcon, Honey Eaters, Wrens and Rosella to name a few and all nest within the parks forest. Other wildlife consists of quolls, bandicoot and bats mainly seen at night.
